آقای جر برگکمپ به عنوان دبیر کل جدید شورای جهانی آب انتخاب شده که از اول ژون ۲۰۰۸ این حکم متنفذ خواهد بود. آقای دانیل زیمر دبیر کل قبلی که از نوامبر ۲۰۰۱ دارای این سمت بود، اینک تا برگزاری پنجمین اجلاس شورای جهانی آب در ژون ۲۰۰۹ به عنوان مشاور دبیر کل به کار خود ادامه خواهد داد.

Biography

Dr. Bergkamp has a background in hydrology, irrigation & drainage and soil & water conservation and a PhD Environmental Sciences and Hydrology Univ. Amsterdam. He has a wide experience in both field level projects and water environment policy, work throughout Latin America Mediterranean, Africa and S & SE Asia and at the international level. He has experience in water resources management with a particular emphasis on environment related issues. His special interest in integrated water resources management and bringing together various sectors and interest has characterized his work over the last 20 years.
